On The Climate Fairplay Podcast, event organizer Cody Sanford breaks down how he’s creating a community pop-up space focused on sustainability and community action. From planning to execution, Sanford shares the challenges and wins of building a space where people can engage in meaningful efforts to build community resilience.

From Warehouse to Community Hub

Community Pop-up Market Event Info

  •  Time: 9 am – 2 pm  
  • Location: 3899 N Jackson Street, Building 3, Denver, CO. (Dive Volleyball)
  • The space can accommodate 150 people and ~25 vendors. 
  • Each vendor receives a 10×10 space. No booth electricity or internet is provided. 
  • Vendors are responsible for their booth setup – table, displays, and payment processing.
  • Art events are curated for Colorado artists including photography, painting, ceramics, glasswork, mixed media, etc. The goal is to celebrate the talents of artists bringing creativity and culture to Colorado.
  • Four artist showcases will be hosted each year. However, artists are welcome at other monthly pop-up events. 
  • There is potential to grow into the neighboring facility, which accommodates up to 100 vendors and over 500 people. 
  • This event series is hosted by the Climate Fairplay, which will be running a canned food drive and a community resource campaign.  
  • Space is limited, so if you want to be involved, I recommend submitting the founding vendor form as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

An Access Point for Community Sustainability

A key focus of this pop-up series is dedicated to fostering environmental and community resilience. The goal is to create an access point to discover local, sustainable businesses, environmental nonprofits, environmental artists, and more for people to learn how to connect environmental solutions to their everyday lives. 

Giving Space to Community Artists.

This event is focused on celebrating Colorado’s art scene; everything from photography, painting, ceramics, murals, mixed media, and more. This space has the aim to support the talents of local artists bringing creativity to Colorado.

"Non-corporate" Pride Market

This is a space to celebrate local LGBTQ-owned businesses, nonprofits, drag artists, queer artists, and more. This is a showcase of local pride without the risk of being overshadowed by corporate sponsors.

Spring Refresh Market

Connect with local outdoor recreation groups, discover urban gardening solutions and community organizations. explore opportunities to reconnect with nature.

Meet the Organizer | Cody Sanford

This event is a grassroots effort organized by Denverite Cody Sanford. Cody is an environmental podcaster, writer, community organizer, and trained ecologist specializing in environmental policy and community-level sustainability.  Sanford has a Bachelor of Science in Ecosystem Sciences and Sustainability from Colorado State University and a background in journalism. Cody focuses on creating community access points to environmental progress by cultivating a grassroots community pop-up market and emphasizing digital outreach strategies.
